End of Summer

Labor Day: Growing up in Delaware, a state that lives and breathes on the rhythms of the beach season, the Labor Day weekend was the official end of summer. Children return to school, young adults head off to college, and churches often set the Sunday after Labor Day as the “start” of the year, a strange phenomenon for an institution that meets year round.
