Though we have a long and varied history of social justice activism, our faith still drives our works today. Starting in 2019, UU Detroit will focus our identity as a church of deeds on the issue of immigration. As a community of love, we will side with our immigrant neighbors in their struggle to be freely and fully welcomed in our shared home.

In January 2017, we signed a Declaration of Conscience to renew our commitment to justice as a whole church.

We also partner with the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network (MUUSJN), which spans 27 UU communities around the state. MUUSJN informs members and allies about justice issues and what to do about them through its action alerts.
